Where I review things
Swapped (Movie)
I genuinely expected this movie to be boring and "mid", but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that it was much better than I expected. I liked the relationship between the two main characters and their inner turmoils, as well as the strange worldbuilding (some animals seems to be connected to nature somehow, like these birds with feather-leaves).

Not gonna write a big summary but basically in this world there are powerful magical "pods" that allows living being to swap their body with another. The main protagonist, on his way to find a way to save his village, unfortunately comes accross one of these pods and ends up in the body of a bird.
Okay this (very) quick summary sounds bad but I swear this movie is good.

Backrooms (Movie)

The backrooms movie was such a crazy ride, I've been craving for this kind of liminal horror content for years. The atmosphere and the ambiance is dreadful, uneasy even, the Backrooms really nailed that feeling. There is a "monster" in this movie but it's not a "screaming jumpscare horror demon". It's hard to explain without spoiling it but the entity itself feels more like a wild animal following it's natural instinct... The cinematography of the movie is especially amazing as well.

The Amazing Digital Circus Finale (Movie)
I've never been a big Amazing digital circus fan, but I don't hate it either (except the fandom, oh my god. Do NOT EVER touch the TADC fandom). I watched every episode of tadc when it released and when I learned they were going to show the final episode outside of youtube I thought "why not" and went in theaters to see it.

(SPOILERS AHEAD)
I've never seen a finale so divided, fans seems to either love it or hate it. Personally I thought it was okayish? I'm more neutral on it more than anything... Although the more time I think about it the more I start seeing plotholes and details missing... How did Caine get out of the void where he was sent to after being deleted (in fact, why was he still alive after being deleted)? Why did he suddenly have access to the Internet? Maybe I'm missing something here...

Also this episode was very Jax centric, and while it's true Jax is one of the main characters, it's kinda sad that other members of the cast felt like they were pushed on the side like a second thought... I really think this finale should have been split in two parts, it felt rushed and I believe it would have given more time to develop the rest of the gang (as well as answering the plotholes).

Wizard 101 (Game)
Something I never mentionned anywhere is that I really, really love old school MMO's. I don't like the majority of modern MMO's because of their toxicity, their competitivity, and of course, their membership paywall. I have some friends who play W101 occasionally and I wanted to try it out since it seemed like a game that I would enjoy. And you know what? I liked it! It was fun, however it can be a little grindy and repetitive, although I didn't mind much. The community in W101 is bigger than I expected and there is always someone who can offer some help if you struggle with something (at least in my experience).

Only issue is that W101 is paywalled.... (Of course I should have seen that coming). Free to play players can only enter the two first worlds, if you wanna go beyond, you gotta open your wallet.

It's a shame since I believe the game would attract more players if the game was more accessible to F2P players. I know they need to make money but a mandatory membership is definitely just gonna turn away potential players... Anyhoo, I liked the old graphics and the battle system, it's quite fun. I played a bit with my friend and I enjoyed it, although there is a LOT of censorship in this game, like damn, you can't even talk using all caps and many normal words get filtered for no reason...
Rating: despite it all, I give it a 7/10 (my very biased opinion because I love old school MMO's)
Final Fantasy XIV (Game)
I can see why people love this MMO, and I tried really hard to be into it but it seems like it's just not for me... This MMO, just like many others has a membership that you have to pay monthly. HOWEVER, there is a free trial that can literally last forever and you can go up to level 60 (which is very good imo) and while there are some restrictions, I think the developpers were very generous with this trial.

There are a LOT of players, (which I suppose is normal since this is one of the most played MMO worldwide ^^'). Well, mostly in the big in-game cities, I remember not meeting a lot of players while adventuring and doing quests. Not sure what they're all doing out there inside all these walls but whatever, that's none of my business.

The graphics are phenomenal, I also like the monsters/creatures designs, I kinda felt like I was playing monster hunter at some point (which is a compliment).

So why didn't I like it? Well in the free trial it can be complicated to communicate to other players, you can't send messages nor send party requests and you also can't befriend people... In an MMO, communication and connection to others are pretty important, which is why it can be frustrating to play.

A lot of players seems to enjoy the lore and the storytelling of FFXIV (which is great btw!) But I personally never felt any kind of enjoyment from the plot or the story... Probabblyyyy because I never played a final fantasy game before and I don't understand what's going on most of the time lol.

Also I'm not sure how true this is, so take it with a pinch of salt, but I've seen some people talk about this MMO like it's One Piece; "Oh it gets better 100 hours in!", this is just my personal opinion but I don't want to start having fun after 100 hours...
Rating: Free trial is 6/10 IMO, if I knew more people playing this game and played as a group it would probably be 7.5/10. Might try it again someday...
Batman: The Animated Series
BTAS is one of the most beloved batman media (from what I heard), and I actually agree! This show has a more episodic narrative rather than a linear plot, although some characters do show up multiple times throughout the seasons (most notably the villains).

I'm gonna be honest, I'm not a big Batman "connoisseur", when I was a kid, I only watched like 4 batman movies (the dark knight trilogy and that god awful Batman vs Superman movie) and my reaction would always be "wow this superhero is really brutal". I knew BTAS Batman was very much loved by the fans and I can understand why; this batman actually have compassion. He is selfless, he genuinely cares. He isn't a violent vigilante, he truly is a superhero. The thing that shocked me the most is his mercifulness and pity towards his ennemies.

(But keep in mind that Batman is still Batman... He will still beat up awful people, it's just that this version of Batman isn't as violent as the more mainstream known ones in my opinion)

I heavily recommend this animated show, you don't even need to know anything about Batman to enjoy it.

Aniimo
Buckle up this review is a tough one. I played a few hours of Aniimo and instantly got hooked. It's free to play and the gameplay is really fun, some of the beasts designs in this game are really cute. Aniimo allows you to "twine" with your aniimos, meaning you can become the aniimo and play/fight as them. The landscapes are gorgeous and there is also a home system (you can have your own RV and plots of lands where your aniimo can work). This game is legit everything I've always wanted to have in a beast catcher.

Now... the complaints: Huge lack of diversity in the character creator, although this is a complaint that applies to A Lot Of Games... Many, many menus, so many menus, who thought this was a good idea? Aniimos may be super cute but it sucks that many of them seems to be "chibified", give some love to uglier designs please, not everyone wants their creature to have shiny sparkly eyes bigger than their own paws.

And now my number 1 issue with this game; the devs used AI and lied about it. Yep. They keep saying that no game assets were made with AI when it's so painfully obvious they did. Truly a shame since this game had a lot of potential and is really fun... There was some backlash and the devs are slowly cleaning the ugly AI bullshit in the game, but still.
Rating: 4/10, would be a 8/10 if there wasn't AI garbage and the developpers had integrity.
Bonus: AI proof:
